5 + thunder by abby

i have to say i've been thinking about how the humidity will effect me .... i'm so used to living with no humidity that it's bound to have an adverse effect. i keep hoping that training at 5000 feet will give me some advantage over it. anyway, today was ... humid. for montana. i ran my 5 around 8:00am and it was already 80 degrees and there were storms blossoming on every horizon and all this heaviness everywhere. nothing like atlanta or the midwest or anything, but still, it was humid. and i felt okay. so i guess that's a good sign.

gerlinda has disappeared. or maybe she is still washing dishes ....

i don't think the humidity is going to bother you...actually, i don't even remember it being humid when rama & lauren ran the disney 1/2 last year. i remember it was cold at 5am when they had to gather at the starting line - but they give you these disposable clothes that look like hasmat suits. later, though, the cool temps at the start will be helpful. last year, i don't think it got above 75 at any point in r&l's run.

anyway, i think training at 5,000 feet will definitely offset the humidity for you. you'll probably finish in under 3 hours and set some sort of record...
